Austria is accessible by airplane, train, bus and car.

The Wien-Schwechat, Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Linz and Salzburg airports all have international flights as well as daily flights from points within Austria. The national air carrier is Austrian Airlines.

It’s easy to travel in and out of Austria by train. Eurailpasses are available for travel in 17 countries, including Austria, and are available in many combinations and packages to allow you flexibility in planning your trip. An Austrian railpass is also available for travel within the country.

You can travel by car into Austria or rent a car once you’re there. An international driver’s license is required and you’ll need to make sure you have the appropriate toll stickers. Austria also requires a security vest in all vehicles at all times, so make sure you have one or your rental agency provides one.
