Croatian Ferries Guide Ferries in Croatia

Because of the sheer number of islands which make up Croatia, there is a slim chance you will avoid traveling by ferry. Luckily, the Croatian ferries are frequent and efficient and, during the tourist season, travel daily to nearly every inhabited island.

Though you will usually be taking the ferry merely to get from one place to another, remember that the ferry journey is an experience in itself and can be quite enjoyable. A favorite scenic ferry route is the trip that connects Dubrovnik and Rijeka. This ferry stops at Zadar, Split Korcula and Hvar. As the trip is one of the longest ones possible, cabins can be reserved. There is a restaurant on board and cheaper tickets can be had for those who don't mind sleeping on deck in a reclining chair.

International ferries travel to Italy from where one can catch ferries and ships to nearly anywhere in the world. In addition to Jadrolinija, some of Croatias other ferry companies are SEM Marina (which travels from Split to Brac, Solta and Vis), Mia Tours (from Zadar to Sali and Zaglov), Rapska Plovidba (travels between Rab and Pag and the mainland) and Mediteranska Plovidba which travels between Orebic and the island of Korcula.
