Weather Prague Guide
Like many cities in Europe, Prague offers both extremes of the seasons. On the one hand, travelers will find that a summer in Prague can be prickly with heat. A simmering 35 degrees may be a steamy shock for those arriving off the plane with Dvorak's "Prague in Spring" thundering between their ears.
Likewise, the temperature in Prague can plummet in the Winter, leaving visitors chilled. In general, however, Prague's weather is mild. While it does not offer the temperate pleasures of countries further south, it does include long seasons of pleasantly brisk weather perfect for setting your legs strolling.
Once you're out and about, you'll find that the weather in Prague highlights some the city's best features. Autumn sunlight pours its yellow luminescence over the trees and buildings, and the bursts of fall color dominating the city's parks and sidewalks give a romantic aspect to the crisp air. Despite the occasional extremes of temperature, most visitors will enjoy lengths of comfortable, inviting weather during the summer and will find that the winter is a bit less chilly than that found during the same time of year in cities such as Berlin or Budapest.
The heaviest rain in Prague falls during the summer months, which can see three inches of rainfall, while the winter months will typically see less than an inch. This keeps things nice and cool on the streets of this capital city. The winters also do not present the nuisance of precipitation that other areas might. Prague is an exceptionally popular New Years Eve destination. The city can generally count on good weather, and the locals really put on a party. Whichever season you in which find yourself in Prague, you are sure to have a comfortable experience, as the city is quite pleasant and can accommodate travelers during all types of weather conditions.
