There are many places in Paris where you can plan to go and have a wonderful night out but the success of your night will depend on how wise you are at choosing the correct place to go. So, below there is a little description of some traditional places to visit at night.
The Champs-Elysees and Trocadero are tourist areas where you can find some expensive nightclubs. At Pigalle you can go to the Moulin Rouge cabaret where you can enjoy cancan performances. Although it is crowded in the summer Montmartre is a great center to visit together with Bastille which is full of bars and clubs though for some people the latter is too populated. The Marais district, which is known to be a gay zone, is good choice for an evening out. Another district is Oberkampf which is popular among the young.
There are plenty of options in Paris: you can go to a cabaret, to have dinner at an exclusive restaurant or you can go to a jazz club, etc. The opera is an excellent alternative in Paris and the two main places to enjoy it are the Opera de la Bastille and the Opera Garnier. Nightclubs are expensive and the exclusive ones cost between $10 and $20. There is a cover charge in the price and you get a drink which is free of alcohol. You will be made to pay for the checking of your coat if you are wearing one there. In the Bastille you can find the cheapest bars and you can go there just to walk around. Different types of music are played in these nightclubs and discotheques, the most popular ones are latino, techno, house, and garage. The clubs are open from 11.00 pm but you’d better not arrive there before midnight. If you want to follow the trend then you should arrive around 3.00 a.m.
At night most means of transports stop. The usual timetable for buses is from 6.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. the metro, on the other hand, starts at 5.30 in the morning and the last one leaves at about 0.30 a.m. as to trains, the first departs from the station at about 5.30 in the morning. During the night there is a bus service, called noctambus and it operates all night from 1.30 a.m to 5.30 a.m.
