The capital of Bavaria, Munich is the third biggest city in Germany. Munich has a unique flavor for Germany, as it is home to a large population of foreigners; namely from Turkey and Eastern Europe. Munich is an artistic city with an Eastern flare and it is no wonder that its enchanting beauty attracts visitors from around the world.



Visitors to Munich should not miss a trip to Nymphenburg Palace. Surrounded by glorious gardens, this Baroque Castle is also home to Marstallmuseum and the Porcelain Museum, the Museum Mensch und Natur and the Botanical Garden. Originally built for King Ludwig I in the Seventeenth Century, no expense was spared as the Palace underwent improvements for the next several hundred years all under the tutelage of the best architects and artisans in the world.



Some may remember that the controversial 1972 Olympic Games were held in Munich. The Olympic park still stands and it is home to a lovely series of hiking and biking paths, concert halls which host fun outdoor shows in good weather, man-made lakes, restaurants and large tented shade structures. Across the street from the Olympic park you will find the BMW museum built in the shape of a 4-cylinder engine.



For the left-brained visitor, the Deutsches Museum of science and technology was the first of its kind. This is the most visited science museum in the world, and perhaps the most fascinating. A huge museum in both size and scope, one can find a world of scientific instruments and can even partake in fun and exciting experiments.
