England is one of the countries which form Great Britain and it is located off the west coast of Europe. There are many historical landmarks and sites that constitute great tourist attractions for visitors. Hills extend over large areas of the country with some flatland areas.

This region was really important with regard to industrial development and it was one of the earliest industrial centers in the past. The main industries in this region are iron and steel, coal mining and textiles among others.
Some of the most interesting places to visit are Buckingham palace, the Tower Bridge, the London Bridge, the Big Ben and St Paul’s Cathedral.

There are different ways of getting to England; one of them is the plane. There are many airlines that have flights to Heathrow or Gatwick airports. Most of the flights offered are non stop. You can also rent a car in the continent and then take it to England by ferry or through the English Channel. The train is another option

When it comes to regions, it can be said that there are two main areas in England. One is called Highland zone which is located in the North and is characterized by big hills and mountains; and the other region is called Lowland zone situated in the south and west featured by plains.

There are other areas that are worth a visit for example the Thames Valley, which is the most popular river in England. It extends from Kew to the Costwolds. In the southeast area you can visit very popular attractions such as Brighton, Canterbury, Dover and other important cities. You can go to the south of London to Hampshire and Wiltshire counties. Here you can visit Winchester and Salisbury Cathedral and the one of the most world famous monuments Stonehenge. In the southwest of the country you can go to Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. They are great tourist centers. The Costwolds is another interesting area to travel around.

The most beautiful beaches are located in southwest England. Cornwall and Devon are perfect places to enjoy the sun, the sea and the wind perfect for surfers, families and youth.

Another area you cannot miss is the Lake district which is located in the northwest of England. This site is a National Park and it is the biggest in the country. There you can take pleasure in the sight formed by villages, lakes, dales and even beaches.
