Attractions London Guide Sights in London

London is a tourist's dream city. City passes offer you endless sights to enjoy at a reasonable price and will keep you entertained for days. Piccadilly circus, Big Ben, the tower of London, Tate modern and the British library are just a tiny sampling of London's famous sites and all lie within a few miles of each other within this enchanting and worldly city.

Getting from attraction to attraction in London is quite easy. Thanks to their ingenious tube system, any person speaking nearly any language can get from place to place quickly and easily without a map or loads of cash. Big red double-decker buses are also abundant and cheap and the ubiquitous black taxis are an experience themselves. Tourism being such a large industry in London, double decker tour buses take you from one attraction to another and can be caught nearly as easily as a city bus.

No London tourist should miss a trip to Windsor Castle. In the center of the city, this home to one of the last living monarchies is surrounded by manicured gardens and beautiful fountains. The changing of the guards, in their silly hats, is a classic photo opportunity and nearby shops offer tea-time treats and Charles and Camilla commemorative mugs...hot off the press!

Piccadilly Circus, a park at a busy intersection in central London, contains a large fountain with the God Eros, the old symbol of London. Feed the innumerable pigeons and take in the sights at this quintessentially London local.

Walk from Piccadilly circus to Big Ben, set your watch and take a leisurely stroll along the Thames to one of London's newest sight-seeing additions; the London Eye. You may be able to spot this enormous Ferris Wheel from the airplane as you land at Heathrow airport. With self-contained gondolas, the top of the eye affords some of the best views of London.

A truly literary city, London boasts one of the most interesting public libraries in the world. The famous British library offers 5 floors of stacks as well as a free museum in the basement. The museum contains much of the world's oldest original literature including pages of the Magna Carta and a document signed by Shakespeare.

A city in which each subway stop is named for a famous monument, there is no good excuse to avoid London. Truly a traveler's dream, this cultured city has something to offer around every corner.
