Rembrandt House has been transformed into a museum where visitors can observe Rembrandt’s collections.
The Royal Palace was constructed in the 17th century and these days it is used for official events but it is also open to the public. There are sculptures, paintings and other pieces of arts which illustrate the wealth and power of the city. Every summer there is a new exhibition of works related to the history of the Palace.
There is a zoo, Artis, which was set up in 1838 and it houses 700 animal species approximately and 200 types of trees. It is situated in the south of the city in a region called Plantage. Within the zoo, there are other buildings such as the Acquarium, a Geological Museum, a Botanical Garden, a Planetarium and a Zoological Museum. On Sundays, you can benefit from a free tour guide.
