Travel Norway Guide
Norway is the land of lore, islands, mountains and the midnight sun. This stunningly mysterious country has a landscape as dramatic as its history, and yet, is as welcoming as its native gnomes. Norway is home to endless miles of coastline and a large and beautiful archipelago. It is one of the northernmost countries in Europe, making its flora, fauna and general atmosphere uniquely intriguing.
The Norwegian Fjords are known around the world for their pristine beauty. These waterways are flanked by dramatic cliffs, waterfalls and surrounded by classically Norwegian countryside. Located throughout the country, one can explore the Fjords endlessly and visit the old wooden houses, white sand beaches and fishing villages along the way. Start your exploration at Bergen, the "European City of Culture" 2000, a great city and a great starting point for discovering the Norwegian Fjords and coastline.
The Lofotons are a series of mountainous islands in the Northern part of Norway. The snow-capped peaks cast their reflections on the clear, still water and are surrounded by lush greenery and white sand. Because of their location in the far north, these islands present the perfect opportunity to experience Norway's strange arctic daylight; the midnight sun. While touring the islands, be sure to visit the Viking Museum, some of Norway's oldest wooden houses and Churches and some spectacular seafood restaurants.
In the middle of Scandinavia, Oslo is Norway's surprisingly contemporary capital city. A city with both skiing and beaches; Oslo has something to offer throughout all of its long days and nights. Oslo has become a shopping destination for European artists and designers, and is also home to many luxury restaurants and accommodations. Because the GDP in Oslo is high, there is no lack of infrastructure and the city is an all around easy and welcoming place to visit.
Because of its location, Norway has had to work twice as hard to make itself a hospitable and fun place to be. The efforts have paid off; Norway is a friendly land of beauty and enchantment, worth seeing at least once in your life.
