Restaurants Belgrade Guide

Serbian food is a combination of Hungarian, Turkish, Greek, Italian and any other culture who has passed through its welcoming gates throughout the centuries. Street foods feature Kebab-style sandwiches, deep-fried cakes, and sausages. Belgrade Restaurants have no problem serving National cuisine, as it can include nearly everything.

As in many Eastern European cities, the best restaurants are often found inside of the nicest hotels. The luxurious Hotel Muskova is home to a popular and sumptuous café , perfect for afternoon coffee and cake. For a more rustic experience, try the native restaurant Kafana Daca, which serves up food from the Serbian countryside in the atmosphere of a Serbian farmhouse. The wait staff here even dress in the native costume!

For great atmosphere and native food, try the Balkan Express. This hilltop restaurant overlooking the Danube has its own tram up to the top of the hill! The views alone make the trek worthwhile, and the food is an invited bonus. Sit on the outdoor patio and enjoy views of the Danube with your Serbian wine, marinated tomatoes and fresh bread.

Perhaps the most popular food in Belgrade is...pizza. While there are endless low-quality pizza stands and cafés throughout the city, there are a few pizza gems. Rosa's Pizza on Madison Ave and The Friendly Tavern on JackRabbit Ln. both serve up ample but strange pizza concoctions along with large, frothy mugs of Serbian beer.

From grilled-meat to pickled vegetables to pizza to Kebab, you will not be disappointed with the delicious array of Serbian cuisine to be found in Belgrade's many quality restaurants.
