Restaurants Ibiza Guide

Any place with so many tourists is bound to have an abundance of great restaurants, Ibiza is no exception. In addition to great fresh and local food, Ibiza's restaurants have some of the greatest views and sunsets in the world. Imagine enjoying some fresh caught fish with local white wine while the waves lap at your feet. Ibiza's restaurants offer the fresh and naturally healthy cuisine of the Mediterranean, with locally-grown vegetables, recently caught fish and delicious Spanish wine.

While there are many great restaurants directly on the beach, or along the beach, most of these are located outside of Ibiza city proper. When in town, most of the good restaurants will be found in the interior. There are even restaurants inside of the Palace walls of the Dalt Vila, a very romantic spot to enjoy a candlelit dinner on a sultry summer night.

While visiting Ibiza, try some traditional island cuisine available at most restaurants. Fish, shellfish and paella are all standards on the Ibiza menu, and are prepared to a T in most eateries. The Ibiza-style fish is fried with white wine, tomatoes and small potatoes for a succulent and healthy taste of Spain. When in the town of Ibiza, try Alfredo's, in the center of town (971 311 274), this is one of the oldest restaurants on the island and serves up the local cuisine with flare.

You may be surprised to find a wide array of world cuisines available on the island, including many Indian food restaurants and British pubs. While most visitors look forward to eating some local food, traveler's prefer their native breakfasts and there is no lack of eggs, bangers, bacon, mash and even grits to be had on the island. The Ibiza Restaurant Tijuana, (971 34 24 73) in San Antonio will fulfill your craving for spicy Mexican food with an Aztec ambiance and the Restaurant Mei Ling I (971 34 34 14) serves up both local and Chinese food with a modern flare.

In addition to in town, you will find many great restaurants inside of beach-front hotels or in one of the several small villages which are still inhabited throughout the island. Though nothing in Ibiza is particularly cheap, you can surely find a wide range of prices (the most affordable restaurants being found away from the city center) from very high end, to affordable. Food is just one more of the many perks of the great island of Ibiza.
