Located in the heart of Scandinavia, Stockholm is a natural leader. With an advanced and organized public infrastructure; this highly modern city sets the pace for Sweden and Scandinavia as a whole in industry, style and culture. A surprisingly busting city, it is said that on any given day, 200 events are said to occur in the city of Stockholm; from theater to sports to avant garde art installations there is never a dull moment in Stockholm. A relatively small city, Stockholm is best explored on foot, though the river running through the city means that much can be seen from the water as well. When viewing the Stockholm skyline, you will note a giant white globe on the horizon. This building is Stockholm's famous "Globe", a sports arena and event center that is the largest man-made globe in the world. Kulturhuset is a monument to modern Stockholm. Built in 1974 this large complex is home to ever-changing art exhibits. It is here that you can find paintings, photography and even fashion shows that are on the cutting edge of Swedish style. These buildings are also home to a children's museum and library, numerous restaurants and lounges and to the world's largest museum of comic books. The Kulturhuset is adjacent to the Sergel Fountain in the city center.

A beautiful amusement park located on a Baltic Island at the entrance to Stockholm, Groner Lund must be accessed by boat. An amusement park since 1883, Groner Lund has activities to occupy the whole family. With roller coasters and rides for the kiddies, Groner Lund also hosts outdoor concerts throughout the summer which can be enjoyed in the lovely island setting. Groner Lund also has its share of shopping, restaurants and pubs and is relatively inexpensive for an amusement park.

In the heart of Stockholm you will find one of the world's finest modern art museums. Open since 1958, the Stockholm Modern Art Museum houses the world's largest collection of 20th Century classics with pieces by Dali, Picasso, Klee and Matisse to name just a few. It has a popular restaurant with stunning views and an extensive gift shop. Admission is free and the museum is easily accessed from all parts of the city.

In the summertime, Stockholm is alive with the activity of a population pent-up for the majority of the year. It is no wonder Stockholm is alive with culture and activity; the residents have to make good use of their time. Stockholm is a cornerstone of modern development and the city has many fascinating sites for tourists, all placed in the beautiful local backdrop of the Baltic coast.
