Visit Switzerland: getting there

Switzerland is accessible by air, car and train.

A number of airlines serve Switzerland’s three airports, Airport Zurich in the north, Airport Geneva in the southeast, and Airport Basel in the northeast. Swiss International Airlines is the official carrier.

Bordering five other countries, Switzerland is a crossroad and has train service to nearly every major point within the country. Inter-European rail service is available from Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain, France, Czech Republic, Hungary Scandinavia, and the Benelux countries on a daily basis.

Entry into Switzerland by car is quick and easy, with a minimum of formalities. Major car rental companies are located in the country.
