St. Moritz is an international ski resort located in the Engadine Valley in the Canton of Graubünden in Switzerland . St Mortiz is most famous because it is located at the highest altitude (1856 meters) and also because it attracts the rich and the famous. It is a very exclusive village. The most popular activities are skiing and hiking among others.

There are many tourist attractions in this resort. You can see the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel which is one of the finest in Europe . The place is also famous for its gorgeous landscape, and elegant boutiques. The general appearance of the place is not as attractive as other Swiss resorts but the scenic setting make up for this.  You can also visit some close by locations such as the Swiss National Park , the Engadine Valley and the village of Soglio .

St Moritz resort is an exclusive site where you can practice a wide range of other activities such as golf, polo, and cricket on snow. In the past this region was famous for the therapeutic effects of the mineral springs. at the present time the many winter sports that tourist can enjoy are skating, hockey, curling, bobsledding, ski paragliding, greyhound racing, and horse racing.

There are two main areas in the resort; one is St. Moritz Dorf which is the principal village and the place where you can come across the most beautiful hotels, shops and buildings. The other region is St. Moritz Bad which is situated in the valley at the south corner of the lake. The site houses a swimming pool, the cross country ski center and an ice stadium. Skiers of different levels of proficiency can find what they are looking for in this resort.

There are other attractions apart from winter sports. You can visit the Segantini Museum where you can see some of the works by Giovanni Segantini. There is another museum called Engadine where you can learn about the history of this place. The Slanting Tower is another monument from the 12th century which is worth a visit.

The place contains many shops, bars, nightclubs that allow for fun and some good nights out. The restaurants here offer a great variety of international cuisine and you can also taste traditional dishes.

Near St. Moritz , along the banks of the Inn River , there are some interesting villages you can visit: Clerina, Samedan, Pontrèsina and Silvaplana.
